The study was non-experimental with a cross-sectional, descriptive, and explanatory diagnosis. The studied sample consisted of 20 patients over 60 years of age, where the highest percentage of hypertensive patients was represented by the female sex (60%). The main associated risk factors found in the patients were inadequate diet 45%, family inheritance 25%, sedentary lifestyle 20%, alcohol consumption 5% and tobacco consumption 5%.
