Abstract

The topic is important because it addresses a current problem, through the question: Does serious and irreversible facial disfigurement deserve to be typified as an independent criminal offense given the serious damage it causes to the mental health of the victim? The objective: to establish the degree of affectation that this type of attacks represent in the mental health of the victim in order to justify its typification as an independent penal figure in the criminal legislations of the world. The methodology is descriptive, documentary - bibliographic, cross-sectional, the technique used was the survey. The face is the letter of presentation of the human being, this type of damage causes affectations in the mental health, self-esteem, and self-concept of the individual.
