Abstract

VALDERRAMA CHAVEZ, María Doménica; VASQUEZ GRANDA, Vicente David  and  LEON BAQUE, Elvia Ligia. Changes in precipitation and temperature patterns in Ecuador, coastal region. Dilemas contemp. educ. política valores [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.spe2, 00025.  Epub Apr 21, 2021. ISSN 2007-7890.  https://doi.org/10.46377/dilemas.v8i.2609.

Climate change is a problem that affects the planet. The investigation of the Coastal Region of Continental Ecuador analyzed temperature and precipitation variables in the meteorological stations of the INAMHI national network starting in the year 1980 and significant precipitation trends were found in various coastal areas, and values with little significance for the temperature; this is due to the geographical situation, location, and other factors such as proximity to the sea. These trends were determined by applying the 4 statistical moments and the Mann Kendall non-parametric test.

Keywords : climate; precipitation; temperature.
