Abstract

LUCAS ZAMBRANO, Mario Enmanuel; CHAVARRIA PARRAGA, Jesús Enrique  and  DUICELA GUAMBI, Luís Alberto. Multi-year evaluation of climate variables and their relationship to the water balance for hard maize cultivation. Dilemas contemp. educ. política valores [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.spe2, 00021.  Epub Apr 21, 2021. ISSN 2007-7890.  https://doi.org/10.46377/dilemas.v8i.2604.

The Bolívar canton presents great agricultural activity of Zea mays, limiting the availability of moisture in the soil; For this reason, it is necessary to look for tools to be able to model water balance systems, making use of multi-year data from the ESPAM MFL-Calceta Cod. M1230 meteorological station, where the variables of the mass balance equation will be quantified. Using statistical data, it is analyzed which model is the one that best fits to calculate the crop yield and the factors that are seen in the intervention. Climatic data, being natural phenomena, cannot be controlled, but a database of behavior can be kept over the years.

Keywords : Water balance; multi-year data; Zea mays; performance.
