In this article, the author addresses a pedagogical research proposal aimed at improving reading comprehension in secondary education within the framework of critical literacy, considering the continuing training of the teacher for the appropriation of the theoretical and methodological elements of the design of sequences Specific didactics to encourage the application of cognitive and metacognitive strategies in the processes of reading scientific texts.
