The training of new nursing professionals must be oriented to the demands of their work profile, in accordance with the health needs of the population. A didactic strategy based on the role of the Mentor integrated in the educational teaching process in the practice of Pharmacology can contribute to the development of the competences of students in clinical settings through the articulation of the teacher-student-mentor trilogy. Mentoring in hospital clinical practice while accompanying students is a necessity to contribute to the level of knowledge, abilities, skills in the preparation, dosage and application of drugs; also, favor the development of critical thinking during the theory-practice link in real settings.
