The purpose of this article is present, describe and analyze a historical aerofoto in deposit by Centro Documental de Estudios sobre el Agua (CDEA), dated from 1931 to 1934, which shows the Tabasco plain and the changes and permanences in the landscape. From the identification of the wetlands, buildings and uses of space, a comparative analysis was made from environmental history, which made it possible understand how such modifications generated the floods expected every year, became during the 20th century in disasters. With this, it is intended to encourage among the historians the analysis of landscape, necessary in the coastal plain of the Gulf of Mexico together the cultural experiences of territorial recognition that has generated a "water culture".
