Abstract

ALPUCHE DE LA CRUZ, Ezequiel  and  BERNAL LOPEZ, José Luis. La Institución y la Organización: un análisis centrado en el actor. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2015, n.10, pp.1-29. ISSN 2007-4964.

The aim of this paper is to analyze organizations and institutions focusing on the actor in the organizational and social spaces. To accomplish this, we trace a theoretical path in which the actor is shown as a being with beliefs, feelings and emotions in his rationality. As for organizations they are defined as groups of individuals pursuing a common purpose and interaction spaces to develop their daily activities; institutions, however, are social constructs formed by rules and constraints in addition to customs, ways of thinking and acting, among others, bequeathed by tradition, or as a product of conventions or social agreements. It is proved that the conflict is a permanent phenomenon between actors or organizations, and how they interact depends on the strategies or stratagems elected by them. How to resolve such conflicts is determined by the type of institutions that society has created for this purpose at a particular historical moment. We conclude that the actor does not maximizes profits but only makes satisfactory decisions, and that their role is not limited to that, it is the protagonist of the design, construction and evolution of organizations and institutions as the sole decision maker.

Keywords : actor; strategy; stratagem; institution; organization.
