Abstract

BEKERMAN, Fabiana. The development of scientific research in Argentina since 1950 at National Universities and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.18, pp.3-23. ISSN 2007-2872.

Scientific research in Argentina historically has been sustained with public resources and connected to two fundamental institutions: national universities and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). National policies on research have undergone a variety of stages, one of them being the last military dictatorship (1976-1983) during which a profound restructuring process of the cientific-university field took place and structural elements were deepened and lasted to our days. The article tries to prepare a descriptive historical synthesis about the development of research at univsersities and the CONICET during the long period from 1950 to 2014 and focuses on institutional policies for research and links established between both institutions or, in other words, between research and teaching.

Keywords : research and teaching; national universities; National Scientific and Technical Research Council; public policies.
