Abstract

HIDALGO-PEGO, Mónica. The 1843 Reform and the Regulations of the National Colegio de San Ildefonso. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.10, pp.56-73. ISSN 2007-2872.

The purpose of the text is to study the content of the two Regulations prepared between 1848 and 1850 for the School of San Ildefonso (Colegio de San Ildefonso). They were written based on the 1843 General Curriculum. To situate the analysis, reference is made to the projects and initiatives of the Mexican State to transform education and it establishes how these had an impact on the San Ildefonso institution. The examination of the regulations of education institutions is relevant at present, not only because it enables us to know of their operation, but also because it is through them that we can measure the relevance that national education policies had in educational establishments, as well as their limitations. Also to understand how the construction of a modern education system controlled by the State took place.

Keywords : education reform; National Colegio de San Ildefonso; Mexico; regulations; XIX century.
