Abstract

RAMIREZ ROSALES, Victoria. Teacher training: projects, institutional processes and players. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2010, vol.1, n.2, pp.98-113. ISSN 2007-2872.

The Mexican education system is in crisis and this has placed teacher training and professionalization at the heart of the debate. Most analysts are of the opinion that teachers are the main players in education and therefore responsible for the results thereof; today more than ever, teachers are being criticized to the point where the continued existence of teacher training is being questioned. This article seeks to provide some reading pointers on a particularly relevant group: teacher trainers and the relationships that are evident in the everyday life of teacher training colleges, which in the final analysis are the institutions where Mexican teachers are trained.

Keywords : teacher education; teachers; teacher trainers; education projects.
