Abstract

DIAZ URIBE, Dayna. Letters to Antonio Acevedo Escobedo, a forgotten correspondence. Valenciana [online]. 2023, vol.16, n.32, pp.109-146.  Epub Dec 08, 2023. ISSN 2007-2538.  https://doi.org/10.15174/rv.v16i32.722.

This article is a review of the relationship that Antonio Acevedo Escobedo had with the epistolary genre and a review of some letters from his personal archive. Although I briefly dialogue with some definitions of the genre, I focus on the relevance of the letters that include Enrique González Martínez, Mariano Azuela, Alfonso Reyes, Elías Nandino, Edmundo O´Gorman, Mauricio Magdaleno, Rafael Bernal, Jaime García Terrés, José Emilio Pacheco, Francisco Giner de los Ríos and Luis Cardoza y Aragón. By doing this review, I outline a cartography of the Mexican literary panorama of that moment, and I emphasize the relevance of both the archive of Acevedo Escobedo and the epistles selected for its construction.

Keywords : Antonio Acevedo Escobedo; Epistolary; History of literature; Twentieth century; INBA.
