The Latin American poetry of the second half of the 20th century was developed in a context whose complexity is given by multiple social and political processes, one of the most emblematic is the military dictatorships of the southern cone. In this scenario, a significant list of writers turned to new strategies to account for the violence exerted by the regime. For the purposes of this work, we will analyze some of the formal resources that Juan Gelman's poetic discourse follows to represent and criticize the violence resulting from the Argentine dictatorship.
