Abstract

OLIVA ABARCA, Jesús Eduardo. Authenticity and falsification in Respiración artificial, by Ricardo Piglia. Valenciana [online]. 2018, vol.11, n.21, pp.7-26. ISSN 2007-2538.  https://doi.org/10.15174/rv.v0i21.316.

In this paper, it will be examined how literature, in specific, the novelistic genre draw on discursive and textual strategies usually employed in the making of factual narratives. The novel Respiración artificial, by Ricardo Piglia, is an example of the fictional usage of the discursive strategies used to construct an empirical discourse. The continual falsification of the texts that constitute Piglia’s novel problematize the relationship between literature and reality.
