Abstract
BEJARANO CANTERLA, Rosario. Ciudades descentradas. Valenciana [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.9, pp.23-58. ISSN 2007-2538.
It has always been understood that every city is the functional and architectural configuration of the people inhabiting it. But under this conception of the city lies the idea of an alleged previous identity of its inhabitants, which is also to be known. In post-metaphysical era where traditional forms of humanism have been challenged, a city's conception open to the possibility it is required, that ontological constitution of each of the individuals that comprise them. Related to Heidegger's conception of man and space, the city is decentred as compared to the land to inhabit. Theorizing about urban space as non-place, terrain-vague or strip of Las Vegas is therefore brought up. But mainly, this article analyzes Zaha Hadid's architecture as a model of opening of the city according to Heidegger's ex-sistent. The city understood as a dystopia of itself, as a permanent opening to possibility.
