Abstract

PERRIG, Sara. The Anti-Peronist Catholics in Peron’s Argentina (1943-1955). Trayectorias. Rev. de cienc. soc. de la Univ. Autónoma de Nuevo León [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.46, pp.18-41. ISSN 2007-1205.

This article discusses the political positioning of women identified with Catholicism that opposed peronism in Argentina. The article addresses the construction that they made their anti-Peronism into antifascist key and in defense of Christian sexual morality. It also analyzes the ways in which they understood women in a context characterized by the sanction of women’s political rights and their inclusion in the public-political sphere. Finally, the article argues that the questions raised by Peronism in its opponents included and increased their participation in different media, in which they wrote and discussed the current political situation.

Keywords : Women; Catholicism; Peronism; Anti-Peronism; Political discourse.
