Abstract

The avocado crop has been affected by various pests and diseases, which has limited its commercialization. Because of this, the indiscriminate use of chemical products by producers has been generated, which has caused great environmental pollution, increased production costs and the presence of pesticide residues in the fruits. The objective of the present work was to develop a mobile application to determine the spatial distribution of phytosanitary problems in avocado crops. The application was developed in 2020 and was based on the Rational Unified Process methodology. Formulas and mathematical models were incorporated to obtain and fit the semivariogram. The formula of the ordinary kriging method was also added, in order to obtain density maps of the populations of phytosanitary problems of avocado crops. The application Ahuacatl App can be installed on mobile phones or tablets with the operating systems Android and iOS. The user can obtain their geographical location without the need to be connected to an internet network or mobile data of the cell phone.
