Abstract

RAMIREZ LOPEZ, Artemio et al. Trust as a factor crucial to agricultural strategies of producers in the altiplano oeste potosino. Nova scientia [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.21, pp.631-654. ISSN 2007-0705.  https://doi.org/10.21640/ns.v10i21.1607.

The objective of this research was to analyze the implications that has the confidence of the producers as their production strategies, their relations with other members of their supply chain and other producers in the region. A survey was applied to 1044 producers of the Altiplano Oeste Potosino, which saw confidence and importance that other producers, its main customer, and main supplier. The differences between the averages of confidence and the importance of the relationship were measured using an analysis of variance with Tukey test. In addition, a logistic regression model was used to determine the influence that confidence has decisions of producers in the region at the time of partnering, lend, borrow money, get counseling and sign contracts. The results showed that both strategies exists in the same confidence for both clients and as for suppliers. The type of relationship with greater confidence is the family, followed by the friendship. However, in bovine and ovine agricultural strategies, the importance of the relationship marks a trend towards the valuation by business relationships. The degree of knowledge who say they have these farmers for their customers is greater than that reported by the rest of the agricultural strategies within the region. The regression models did not specify that confidence will influence the decisions of the surveyed producers. It is considered that the importance of trust among agricultural producers in the region could be less than that reported in other parts of the world, however there are strategies, such as the generation of cooperative societies, which can encourage it in rural populations, contributing in a way more effective to their economic well-being and to the best use of the natural resources used in their productive activities.

Keywords : trust; productive strategies; logistic regression; productive chain; cooperativism.
