El periplo sustentable

This study focuses on the analysis of two events the “Cosaltazo” and “Cosalazo” taking place in the community of Cosalá, Sinaloa that is part of the “Pueblos Mágicos” program and is an example of how it can be diverted the orientation of the sustainable guidelines requiring in that program, which promotes sustainable tourism as the main shaft of economic development in the selected communities. Since the program's inception in the community some strategies have been implemented that have allowed the preservation and restoration of its cultural and architectural heritage that may be at risk for holding such events. This research aims to analyze the impact in the sustainability of the events called the “Cosalazo” and “Cosaltazo” in the “Pueblo Mágico” of Cosalá. A study case methodology has been used and the results show that the impact is mostly negative because it is contrary to the conservation of the cultural heritage of the place and highlights the importance of a better coordination between the stakeholders in order to guide adequately the tourism activity in the creation of truly sustainable tourism products.
