Abstract

MARTINEZ MARTINEZ, Miguel Ángel. Del homo faber al animal laborans: la violencia de la racionalidad instrumental. En-clav. pen [online]. 2007, vol.1, n.1, pp.39-62. ISSN 2594-1100.

To highlight that labour is not only the dimension of human activity that allows the production of the group of tools that provide sustenance, but also the combined rationalization of productive processes, the strengthening of a disciplined workforce, the massive production of standardized commercial goods and the growth of the workers acquisitive capacity. These elements allow for the setting of the human being's identity in a process that goes from the homo faber to the animal laborans, where human relations in concentrational spaces are the realm in which the human thrives.

Keywords : Homo faber; animal laborans; instrumental rationality; modernity; violence; work; labour; bare life.
