Abstract

CAMPOS-RODRIGUEZ, José Ismael et al. Range extension of Gray-headed Dove (Leptotila plumbeiceps) in Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve of Guanajuato, Mexico. Huitzil [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.2, pp.223-227. ISSN 1870-7459.  https://doi.org/10.28947/hrmo.2017.18.2.280.

For the first time, we registered the Gray-headed Dove (Leptotila plumbeiceps) in the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve of Guanajuato (RBSGG), Guanajuato state. Between September and October of 2016 we photographed specimens on the upper basin of the Manzanares river, in the municipality of Victoria, Guanajuato. This record in the RBSGG confirms the existence of a tropical to subtropical faunal component associated with the rivers of Manzanares and Santa María, which is present in the transition area of the Mexican Plateau and the Sierra Madre Oriental located within the reserve.

Keywords : New record; tropical to subtropical species; Manzanares river; camera-traps; biological corridor.
