Abstract

MONROY-OJEDA, Alan; GIBERT, Santiago  and  ORANTES ABADIA, Efraín. First record of the Rose-bellied Bunting (Passerina rositae), in El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, Chiapas, Mexico. Huitzil [online]. 2016, vol.17, n.1, pp.107-110. ISSN 1870-7459.

We recorded the presence of three individuals of the Rose-bellied Bunting (Passerina rositae), an adult male and two females of undetermined age in the Finca Arroyo Negro ranch, at the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. This record increases in 97 km the known southeastern limit of the distribution of the species; it also represents the first record of the species in the natural protected area. We describe the habitat type where we observed the individuals, which differs to previous descriptions.

Keywords : Finca Arroyo Negro; Tehuantepec isthmus; La Frailescana.
