Abstract

ROJAS-SERRANO, Coral et al. Strategies for peasant reproduction, gender and forest valuation in Lachatao, Oaxaca, México. agric. soc. desarro [online]. 2014, vol.11, n.1, pp.71-92. ISSN 1870-5472.

This study analyzes the way in which a community of Zapotec origin territorializes and gives meaning to the forest and to gender identities, through reproduction strategies that domestic groups develop. In order to do this, the community creates a social organization that reproduces peasant agriculture, values forest environmental services, negotiates policies and local projects to guarantee the conservation of natural resources, but also reproduces conditions of subordination for women.

Keywords : forest; reproduction strategies; gender; territory.
