Abstract

This article describes a qualitative, correlational, basic and synchronous research that addresses several aspects that have implications in the way in which the environmental conscience is developed in children of sixth grade of primary in the context of the Educational Project “Save your world”, Carried out in a public school in Xalapa, Veracruz. The objective was to understand and interpret how environmental awareness develops and how the meanings that shape it emerge. It was carried out through the Method of Symbolic Interactionism, from the Historical-Hermeneutic Approach, positioning itself in the Naturalistic Interpretative Investigative Paradigm. The results brings in knowledge in four dimensions for understanding the process in which the environmental conscience is developed, which can contribute to the reformulation of study programs and selection of didactic methodologies propitious to favor the environmental conscience from early ages and with that to help to a Sustainable education in line with current environmental issues.
