Abstract

RODRIGUEZ HERNANDEZ, Blanca Araceli  and  LEAL VERA, Rogelio Alberto. Academic writing in professionalizing postgrad education for teachers in basic education. CPU-e. Rev. Investig. Educ [online]. 2017, n.24, pp.224-239. ISSN 1870-5308.

This paper presents a reflection on the complications within the academic writing process faced by students that are culminating their masters´ degree and are presenting their dissertation document. Parting from theoretical references of academic writing in postgrad levels within education and with the systemized experience throughout the seminars of assessment, it is possible to say that there is a lack procedural knowledge that is demanded for text writing and the scarce experience in the elaboration of such type of products which entails difficulty in the creation of these texts and their culmination. Finally, suggestions will be provided in order to support the thesis tutors within these postgrad studies and we highlight the —not yet assumed— responsibility of the institutions that offer such professionalized studies in postgrad levels destined for in service teachers.

Keywords : Writing; academic writing; text production; academic literacy.
