Abstract

RICHTER, Jacqueline. The labour in labour law. Rev. latinoam. derecho soc [online]. 2013, n.16, pp.179-215. ISSN 2448-7899.

The object of protection of Labour Law is the employee’s wage. The transformations in the mode of providing personal services have reduced their range and efforts to expand the scope of protection have encountered with flexibilization processes and the increasing of the various forms of employment through third parties and self-employment, whether in economic dependence or in no subordination of any kind. Two types of work outside the object of protection of Labor Law are voluntary work and unpaid work at home. The challenges of protection involve giving value to all kinds of work, which implicates reformulating Labour Law and Social Security basic principles.

Keywords : Labour law; social rule of law; flexibilization; outsourcing; gender.
