Abstract

FLOR, Imanol de la. The Mexican Birth Certificate as Vehicle to Exercise the Right to Education; the Case of Migrant Children in Return. Anu. Mex. Der. Inter [online]. 2013, vol.13, pp.479-516. ISSN 1870-4654.

Due to the fact that the children of Mexican migrants returning from United States, cannot exercise their right to education in Mexico because they don't have a Mexican birth certificate, I propose to create an administrative mechanism -sustained on the principles of international cooperation and administrative efficiency- which involves the joint action of United States and Mexican governments (the last one, in all its levels) in order to provide the children, the Mexican birth certificate that they need to have access to educational services in Mexico.

Keywords : right to education; right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law; birth certificate; administrative mechanism.
