Abstract

ENCINAS MUNOZ, Abel  and  MERCADO MALDONADO, Ruth. Formación docente en la escuela: negociación de significado y micropolítica en colectivos de profesores. Región y sociedad [online]. 2012, vol.24, n.55, pp.199-226. ISSN 2448-4849.

In this article we ethnographically analyzed meaning negotiation and micropolitical processes which occurred during the development of teachers' collectives in primary schools in the state of Querétaro, within the context of a social network conformed by individuals and organizations from the regional elementary education system to which the teachers belonged. The different perceptions of those constituting the network made them adopt coincidental or confrontational positions regarding the collectives' work, depending on the meaning attributed to the development of these organizations, which gave rise to the micropolitics identified. The results of the study indicate that local negotiations related to the collectives' work result both in consensus and conflict. We also found that sometimes the teachers are more interested in encouraging a collective's performance, even in the face of opposition from their authorities or other members of school communities.

Keywords : teacher training; school, teachers' collectives; micropolitics; meaning negotiation; social network.
