Abstract
TAYLOR HANSEN, Lawrence Douglas. La "fiebre del oro" en Baja California durante la década de 1850: su impacto sobre el desarrollo del territorio. Región y sociedad [online]. 2007, vol.19, n.38, pp.105-127. ISSN 2448-4849.
The series of gold discoveries in Baja California's Partido Norte during the 1850s impacted on the overall development of the region. Although the gold rushes of this period did not result in any great bonanza, they constituted an important antecedent for the mineral discoveries in later decades. The influx of prospectors from the United States to the region became linked to internal order and security problems, which constituted the greatest challenge for the maintenance of governmental authority in this border territory.
