Abstract

CHIHU AMPARAN, Aquiles. Marcos interpretativos, identidad e imaginario en el mexica movement. Región y sociedad [online]. 2007, vol.19, n.38, pp.51-76. ISSN 2448-4849.

The objective of this article is to analyze the mexica movement through its discourse and imaginary, represented in a collection of utopias, symbols, myths and beliefs that revitalize the Mesoamerican past and culture. A frame analysis methodology, consisting of five parts, is applied: the protagonist, the problem, the antagonist, the goals and the audience. The analysis of political and structural aspects has prevailed in the study of social movements. Here, we observe social movements in terms of their capabilities as generators of meaning that contribute to shape their collective identity.

Keywords : frame analysis; discourse analysis; collective identity; imaginary; borders; mexica movement.
