The text proposes a minumum theoretical approach to address the phenomenon of globalization from the perspective of a world-system analysis. First it is necessary to clearly distinguished between the concepts of "globalization" and "globalization process". The former refers to a specific chronological period in global history, while the latter points out an evolutionary process in the development of the economy, politics and contemporary international society. Based on this hypothesis, players and sub-systems can be researched more properly in regard to the analysis of global system.
