Abstract

HERNANDEZ MACIAS, Cinthia Liliana. Reformas económicas liberales: casos de China e India. CONfines relacion. internaci. ciencia política [online]. 2011, vol.7, n.14, pp.133-149. ISSN 1870-3569.

Since the implementation of liberal economic reforms in China and India, both countries have experienced rapid economic growth and positioned prominently in the global economy. Although both countries were founded about the same time -India in 1947 and China in 1949-, it is interesting to know why the reforms were implemented and why were carried out first in China and then India. To this end, this paper makes a comparative analysis between the two cases, with respect to the adoption of such liberal economic reforms.

Keywords : Economic liberalization; democracy; Mao Zedong; China; India.
