Abstract

CESPEDES, Leonardo; ORTIZ, Enrique  and  VILLASENOR, José Luis. The family Asteraceae of the Ecological Reserve of the Pedregal de San Angel, Mexico City, Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2018, vol.89, n.1, pp.193-207. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ib.20078706e.2018.1.2203.

An updated species list of the Asteraceae family in the Ecological Reserve of the Pedregal de San Angel (REPSA), located south of Mexico City, on the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico is presented. The catalog records 114 species, distributed in 56 genera and 15 tribes. In the REPSA newly introduced species are recorded and others because not re-collected again are thought locally extinct. A figure of 11 species are exotic (introduced), several of them recently introduced to the reserve. The different floristic lists for the ecological reserve show differences in Asteraceae species composition, suggesting that the inventory is not yet complete.

Keywords : México City; Distrito Federal; Floristic diversity; Exotic species; Palo loco scrubland; Senecio praecox; Pittocauon praecox; Xitle volcano.
