Abstract

ALVARADO-CARDENAS, Leonardo O.  and  JUAREZ-JAIMES, Verónica. A new species of Tabernaemontana (Apocynaceae: Rauvolfioideae) from Mexico, seriously threatened in its habitat. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2012, vol.83, n.2, pp.334-340. ISSN 2007-8706.

A new species of Tabernaemontana L. (Apocynaceae; Rauvolfioideae), from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, is described. The new taxon can be distinguished from the other Mexican species of the genus by the presence of muricate fruits. A distribution map and comments about its risk status are provided.
