Abstract

MENDEZ CORTES, Sandra Perla et al. Square Wave Anodic Stripping Voltammetry Determination of Arsenic (III) onto Carbon Electrodes by Means of Co-deposition with Silver. J. Mex. Chem. Soc [online]. 2018, vol.62, n.2, pp.314-322. ISSN 1870-249X.  https://doi.org/10.29356/jmcs.v62i2.430.

In the present study an electrochemical assay for the detection of arsenic (III) by means of square wave anodic stripping voltammetry with co-deposition of silver at screen printed and glassy carbon electrodes is presented. This methodology shows a good behavior in presence of dissolved oxygen with appropriate detection limits to monitoring the water quality according to the guidelines values. The evaluation of most important interfering ions (Cl-, Hg2+, Pb2+ and Cu2+) is also described. The proposed analytical strategy demonstrated to be suitable for decentralized arsenic analysis and can be easily integrated to portable instrumentation commercially available.

Keywords : arsenic; square wave anodic stripping voltammetry; silver co-deposition; carbon screen printed electrode; glassy carbon electrode.
