REBOLLAR REBOLLAR, Eulogio; REBOLLAR REBOLLAR, Samuel; GUZMAN SORIA, Eugenio and REBOLLAR REBOLLAR, Alfredo. Evaluation of imports effect in the poultry supply in Central-East of Mexico. Panor. econ. With the objetive to determine the magnitude of the effect of imports on the supply of chicken meat in Mexico in the Central-East of Mexico, during 1996 to 2016, two models of multiple linear regression were used, the offer was the dependent variable and, the price of chicken meat, pork, food, food efficiency and imports were the explanatory ones. Results indicated that imports increased the volume of poultry meat in Mexico; without and with imports, the dynamics of production was explained elastically and inelastically by its price (1.58 and 0.05); inverse and inelastic to the price of pork (-0.20 and -0.08), price of food (-0.15 and -0.11) and imports (-0.23); direct and elastic to the feed efficiency with the effect of imports (1.04) but less elastic without imports (0.03). It is concluded that with imports, the variable that explained the dynamics of poultry production in Mexico was food efficiency.
