This article presents the preliminary research results of a recent fieldwork in some municipalities of Michoacán where the goal is to understand the causes of return migration in the state. The purpose of this article is to present the issues facing a family of migrants who planned and definitive return to Mexico, and how despite being planned, it never is because the goals set by other family members in U.S.
