Abstract

This paper is focuse on the theoretical articulation between the pimp system and the basic structure of sexual slavery, and is the result from the research of rural pimps in Tlaxcala, Mexico. It starts with the Hegelian proposal of the master-slave dialectic to discuss with other theoretical perspectives, mainly feminist, to propose the concept of the basic structure of sexual slavery. The analysis will make it possible to identify the characteristics of the new slavery by understanding the pimping process that took place in the southern area of Tlaxcala. It is concluded that the sexual slavery system adapts to local cultural practices, such as bride theft, to transform them in benefit of the pimp system.
