Abstract
ALMANZA BELTRAN, Natividad. Sex workers: violence and job precariousness. Andamios [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.48, pp.39-60. Epub Oct 17, 2022. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v19i48.894.
The present article has an explorative character. The aim is to explain the context of social inequality, economic deprivation and job insecurity, characteristic of capitalism, in which sex work is exercised and how it is associated to a multiplicity of intertwined violences; from the structural kind to the ones related with dispossession and appropriation of the bodies. They are the sex workers from the Chontalpa Region, Tabasco, whom, from their experiences, express the conditions of job insecurity and violence that they experiment on a daily basis. In the conclusions it is argued why such conditions turn into a form of contemporary slavery.
