The article sets a goal to generalize the experience and knowledge gained in course of linguistic studies and theoretical apprehension of discourse phenomena in terms of achievements of modern humanities within interdisciplinary approach and conceptual evolution of the term “discourse” be used in a broad research context. Cognitive field being discourse existence domain equal to one of the possible “virtual worlds” led to re-considering discourse status as intra and extra-linguistic phenomenon, as an interdisciplinary object of studies. In parallel, linguistic status of discourse improves, and discourse is understood as “language within language”, as speech activity possessing and using linguistic “units” of text, utterance and speech act.
