Abstract

This article analyzes the work of Augusto Comte from the politics of science. The Comtean project is identified as a politics of science in two ways. First, Comte conceives a technocratic science and does not make a distinction between politics and science. This notion refers to a hybrid thought between the human and the machine where the challenges of the sociocultural process of industrialization can be solved. Second, Comte expresses the need for taking power by experts; Thus, from power, scientists would use their methods to dispel political controversies and could put into practice notions such as order and progress for the pacification of the world.
