Abstract
MORENO BARRENECHE, Sebastián. Meaning, Relations and Interactions. Intersections between Relational Thinking and Sociosemiotics. Andamios [online]. 2020, vol.17, n.44, pp.15-37. Epub Sep 27, 2021. ISSN 2594-1917. https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v17i44.788.
The article identifies some contact points between semiotics -particularly sociosemiotics- and relational thinking, as it has been theorized within sociology. By discussing the main features of these two research fields, the article attempts to build bridges between them by discussing their theoretical premises, key concepts and main arguments, identifying areas of possible intersection. To illustrate how semiotics can provide relational thinking with a relevant conceptual apparatus for the study of the social realm as the result of intersubjective processes of circulation of meaning, Eric Landowski’s model of regimes of interaction is presented.
Keywords : Relational thinking; relational sociology; sociosemiotics; interaction; identity.
