Abstract

ARROYO, Gustavo. Philosophical Definitions: stipulative or descriptive?. Andamios [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.41, pp.127-142.  Epub May 20, 2020. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v16i41.718.

The Theory of Definition has been traditionally considered as a part of Logic. Its objectives comprise the clarification of the nature of the definition, the providing of a consistent taxonomy of different types of definitions and the development of criteria for the assessment of definitions. My aim in this paper is to use some basic concepts of the Theory of Definitions to discuss the status of philosophical definitions.

Keywords : Definition; philosophical definitions; discuss philosophical.
