Abstract

LARIONOVA, Marina V.  and  DEMKINA, Anastasia V.. New socio-spatial inequalities through of the discourse of Podemos. Andamios [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.39, pp.305-328. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v16i39.685.

The article, from the discursive perspective of the Podemos party, analyzes new socio-spatial inequalities that Spain faces. Understanding their discourse as an instrument to make politics, based on the ideas of postmodernism and poststructuralism and enriched from Latin American philosophical sources, configures the socio-political space around the antagonistic axis, whose key concepts, among others, are: democracy-society against oligarchy of caste; colonized against colonizers; plurinationality against ethnocentrism. Starting from the Laclaunian theory that says that the political reality outside the discursive space does not exist because it is full of "empty signifiers" that lack concrete meaning, Podemos focused its political doctrine as the struggle for senses to articulate a political movement around its discourse and face new challenges of modernity.

Keywords : Socio-spatial inequalities; Spain; Podemos; political discourse; antagonism.
