Abstract

PALUMBO, Mariana. Loving and violent gestuality of middle class heterosexual youngs. Andamios [online]. 2018, vol.15, n.38, pp.261-291. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v15i38.660.

This article studies scenes and interactions during the first dating relationships of young, heterosexual, middle class individuals in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), Argentina, in light of the notions of violence, love and corporeality. In particular, the objective of the following article is based, on one hand, on analysing the gestuality that appear during the couples’ discussions and fights; and on the other hand, in the acceptable limits within them. For this porpoise, from a qualitative research methodology, firstly, I refer to scenes of conflict within the couple that were resolved since the corporal loving field; secondly, I make the same exercise but since the lecture of a WhatsApp conversation, and I inquire in this young people as cyborgs. In the third place, I describe how the interviewees perceive their corporal limits in relation to the violence and love, according to the patterns and frames that the actors themselves establish as acceptable inside their couples.

Keywords : Violence; love; corporeality; loving gestuality; violent gestuality.
