Abstract

GAYOSSO RAMIREZ, José Luis. Urban imaginaries and labor practices in the traders of the public route of the Historical Center of Querétaro. Andamios [online]. 2018, vol.15, n.38, pp.91-112. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v15i38.653.

Within the range of urban social actors that prevail in cities, informal workers occupy a relevant place mainly because of the level of extension they have over public space and the capacity of appropriation over it based on their organizational and mobilization capacity social. They denote a type of urban imaginary that tends to justify their stay in public places, which affects their labor and organizational practices whose objective is permanence in public space despite the implementation of a policy of gentrification of the historic centers on the part of local governments, as is the case of the city of Queretaro, whose process, in part, is reported in this document.

Keywords : Urban imaginary; gentrification; informality; appropriation of space.
