This article is the product of an advanced research process in Colombian Caribbean, Specifically in the Pescaito neighborhood of the city of Santa Marta, Tourist, Cultural and Historical District. Its purpose is to generate a descriptive reflection about the ways in which the neighborhood space meaning is recreated as an alternative tourist reference of Santa Marta. It shows the inventive and creative capacity of the pescaítero, to configure strategies of appropriation and interaction of the urban space, understood as logical and senses of inhabiting, representing, acting and living with and in the neighborhood.

Keywords : Neighborhood space meaning; ways of living; identity image of a city; territorial configuration.
