Abstract

SOTO VILLAGRAN, Paula. Rethinking the urban environment from a gender perspective. Debates, agendas and challenges. Andamios [online]. 2016, vol.13, n.32, pp.37-56. ISSN 2594-1917.

This paper proposes to first reconstruct some theoretical itineraries gender mainstreaming in urban planning processes, showing the diversity experienced by women as a group in urban life experiences. Second examines the main demands through which women have claimed the “right to the city”. And, thirdly establishes the main political, urban and cultural challenges to building more democratic and inclusive cities.
