Abstract

WEISBROT, Mark; ROSNICK, David  and  BAKER, Dean. NAFTA at Ten: The Recount. Economía UNAM [online]. 2004, vol.1, n.3, pp.53-61. ISSN 1665-952X.

A World Bank survey stating that NAFTA has increased Mexican GDP by 4-5 percent in an eight-year period is analyzed. The authors demonstrate the data used by this institution significantly differs from the broadly accepted sources of information. Their conclusion is that NAFTA has in fact slowed down Mexican economy dynamism, contrary to the results presented in the aforesaid study.
