Italy is one of the European countries with a broad and numerous foreign residents in its territory; a very important part of the immigrants has recently arrived, which sets forth increasing challenges for the society in general-not accustomed to live with other communities-as well as political institutions. This research focuses on Italy's cause and characteristic immigration phenomenon; it outlines todays migratory current scene, it analyses the most significative foreign communities condition, it reviews the labor ways that the foreign obtain and its roll in the Italian economy and its legal frame. The author explains that the quantity of the migratory flow is transforming Italy in to a multicultural country, following what is happening all over the European Union.
